What To Wear To Your Engagement Session
Before I dive into what to wear to your engagement session let me just say: Congratulations! I assume you are reading this because you are engaged! Or maybe you just love my blog posts that much (;
If you are engaged and happen to be reading… this is such an important and big time in your life. And one of the best ways to honor this season of your life is to book an engagement session. Being with how special this time is, most people have a hard time picking the perfect outfit to wear. So, to take some of the pressure off of you, here are some tips for what to wear to your engagement session.
Create A Color Palette
Start off by creating a color palette. What season is it when you will be taking your photos? If it’s in the Springtime then I would suggest wearing some pastels and neutrals. If it’s in the Winter I would suggest going for some darker colors like black, brown, dark greens, and more! Creating a color palette can make a big difference in the way your photos look. You and your partner's outfits will look far more cohesive as well.
Plan According To The Weather
After you have chosen a color palette for you and your partner, I suggest planning accordingly to the weather. Let’s say it’s going to be around 40-50 out, you won't want to have on shorts because you will freeze! If it’s going to be a little rainy I suggest wearing closed-toe shoes and a cute raincoat just in case. It is always important to be prepared. The weather can always shift on you, especially here in Tennessee.
Make Sure You Are Comfortable
I can’t stress this next thing enough… always dress comfortably! I will more than likely be having you guys do some fun poses and turn your session into an adventurous date night so dressing comfortably is very important. The last thing you want is to be insanely uncomfy in your clothes while trying to enjoy taking photos. That is not fun, trust me!
Use Pinterest To Find Some Inspiration
And if you still are thinking to yourself, “Aisha I still don’t know what to wear.” Use Pinterest for some inspiration! Pinterest is such an awesome app for pairing outfits together and getting ideas. Just go to the search bar and type in keywords like “white and black outfits”, “flowy outfit inspo”, or “coordinated couples outfits”. This can get your mind flowing with different ideas until you eventually know exactly what you want to wear.
All in all, no matter what, make sure you dress in what makes you feel good. I always say it’s better to overdress than underdress. I hope this helped you in any and every way! I look forward to seeing what outfits you decide on for your day!
